Update March 16, 2010: KILLING MACHINE confirmed for Wacken Open Air.
USA Metal band KILLING MACHINE confirmed for Wacken Open Air.
Killing Machine have recently re-grouped as a four piece after a four year hiatus. The completed Killing Machine line up is Csaba Zvekan - Vocals, Peter Scheithauer (Temple Of Brutality / Belladonna) - Guitar, Jari Kainulainen (Evergrey / Stratovarius) - Bass Guitar, and Jon Dette (Testament / SLAYER) - Drums.
Killing Machine have already started initial work on a new album. Two new songs 'Skull and Bone' and 'Hell Raiser' can be heard on their myspace page.
Update March 21, 2010: W.O.A. line-up additions
It's been a good week for the Wacken Open Air fans, with no less than four new confirmations:
- Rotting Christ (extreme metal, GR)
- Mambo Kurt (German artist who does covers of various mainstream and classical/modern rock hits)
- Mad Max (melodic rock, DE)
- Grindcore supergroup Lock Up — featuring At The Gates frontman Tomas Lindberg, Anton Reisenegger of Pentagram and Criminal on guitar, Napalm Death bassist Shane Embury and ex-Dimmu Borgir and Testament drummer Nick Barker.
Update March 23, 2010: Primal Fear cancels W.O.A. presence
According to the Wacken Open Air organisers, Primal Fear decided to cancel their presence at this year's edition (in German), citing “private and very important deadlines”.
The band also stated their intention to be present at the next year's edition, and apologized to the fans.

Update March 23, 2010: Svartsot to play at W.O.A.
Danish folk metallers Svartsot are the latest addition to the Wacken Open Air line-up. Their mix of death and Viking metal is likely to offer something for every fan of Nordic culture.
Update March 28, 2010: Frei.Wild confirmed for W.O.A. 2010
Deutschrockers Frei.Wild are the latest addition to the Wacken Open Air 2010 line-up. The band's sixth album — Hart am Wind — was released in October last year and was very well received by the fans.
Update March 29, 2010: The Keltics confirmed for Wacken
Irish folk/rock band The Keltics from Celle, Germany, are the latest addition to the Wacken Open Air 2010 line-up. The band will entertain the audience with both traditional Celtic songs and their own compositions, played at traditional instruments like mandolin, accordion, Irish bouzouki. They have released 5 albums so far.
Update April 3, 2010: Anvil confirmed for W.O.A. 2010
Canadian veterans Anvil, a band cited as an influence by heavy names of the metal world like Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax, are the latest addition to the Wacken Open air line-up. Festival goers should expect a top quality speed/thrash metal set played by the Lips, Five and Reiner gang.

Update April 9, 2010: Soulfly confirmed for W.O.A. 2010
The latest addition to the Wacken Open Air line-up is Soulfly, a band whose mastermind is Max Cavalera. The band released their latest album — Omen — on May 25th.

Update April 20, 2010: Red Hot Chilli Pipers to play at Wacken
Red Hot Chilli Pipers, a Scottish band that combines traditional folk music, bagpipes, guitars and keyboards into a lively show, are the latest addition to the Wacken Open Air line-up.
Update May 25, 2010: Kataklysm cancel WOA show
Kataklysm had to cancel their performance at this yearÂ´s W:O:A. Following a statement from the band:
” Unfortunately because of our extremely tight schedule between the new album , Ex Deo's euro tour , Heavy mtl open air and Ozzfest all jammed together this summer, we just canÂ´t make the trip to Wacken this year, the organizers have been kind enough to rebook us for next Wacken 2011..of course if the world still exists, so we apologize to all you maniacs that wanted to see us destroy Wacken this year..youÂ´ll have to wait next year!”
